Characteristics and the mineralogy of ore mineral of Pingwu Be deposit in Sichuan Province, China
The Pingwu area of Sichuan Province has been known for its tabular beryl in China, and the scheelite and cassiterite are also two main economic minerals with wide distribution and high concentration. The author has made a deep study and detailed description on the occurrences,chemical composition of W, Sn, Be minerals and physical-chemical conditions of mineralization. Be vein deposits are genetically related to hydrothermal fluids, which originated from the late stage of magma evolution. According to the geologic setting, the wall rock alteration, the mineral assemblages, the crystal morphology and minerogenic temperature and pressure of the beryl,the beryl deposit is regarded as a shallow-seated hypothermal quartz vein type deposit. Be, W, Sn,Nb, Ta and other trace elements come from granite.The granite is formed by highly fractionation of granite magma in the latest stage. At the same time,the information about the physical characters of the beryl was obtained. The chemical composition of the mineral was analyzed by wet chemistry analysis and the formula is calculated and the beryl is one kind of sodic-lithian beryl being rich in Li+, Na+,Rb+ and Cs+. The average content of alkali (Li2O+Na2O+ K2O+ Rb2O+Cs2O) is up to 2.412%. The tabular alkali-rich beryl can be found in granites,but the tabular alkali-rich beryl occurring in hypothermal deposit is very rare. This paper introduced the geologic characteristics of deposits,the mineralogy of beryl、 the physical and chemical condition of mineralization to explain the genesis of the tabular beryl.
