Discussion on the Bi-type and Te-type of gold deposits of China
According to their geochemical essential characteristics, some magmatic hydrothermal gold deposits, in this paper, are reclassified into the Bi-type and Te-type. Comparing study on the two types of gold deposits indicates that ore-forming elements of Au, Ag, Bi, Te, Se, As, Sb and S are closely paragenetic in hydrothermal systems causing both types of gold deposits. The content of different ore-forming elements in the hydrothermal system and various mineral assemblages are resulted from their different sources. The Bi-type gold (-copper) deposits are closely associated with sub-alkaline igneous rocks, whereas the Te-type gold (telluride-gold) deposits are derived from alkaline igneous rocks. Studies on Bi-type and Te-type of gold deposits not only provide new researching field for magmatic hydrothermal gold deposits, but also are very helpful for exploration and ore dressing of these gold deposits.
