Characteristics and origin of perlite deposit in Beiliang area, north Hebei Province, China

Extensive tectonic movement in Late Jurassic resulted in fiercely volcanic eruption in North China Craton and produced many perlite deposits in north Hebei province, especially in Beiliang area. In the ore district, fracture structure is not developed well. The host stratum is the second member of Zhangjiakou Formation. Three important perlite types have been recognized according to the structural features. The perlite ledge is stable with big thickness, long extension, good concentration in Beiliang area, Fengning County. Exposed directly on the surface, they have huge ore reserves and ore is of good quality and big swelling coefficient.
