Genesis of the large-super large Pb, Zn, Ag deposits in the Lanping basin and adjacent area: A new evidence from Cenozoic alkaline rocks and deep-seated xenoliths in west Yunnan Province, China

The injection to continent from the convection mantle or asthenosphere may be a direct driven force for the continental mineralization (Li et al., 1993; Deng, 1999). Therefore, to seek the dynamic mechanism, process and source of the large scale mineralization from the depth of the continental mantle and/or crust has already become a new research project in the studies of the present ore deposit. The west Yunnan, especially the Lanping basin, is an important component of the Tethyan-Himalayan metallogenic domain and an attractive area to the domestic and overseas ore researchers, because of the super-large scale of Pb,Zn deposit in the Jinding and the large scale of metallogenic concentration area of Ag and polymetallic ore deposit in the Baiyangping. However, a key point for the ore deposit researchers is, why such large scale metallogenic resources can be concentrated in the Lanping Basin and adjacent area?
