A New Gradient-Based Routing Protocol in Wireless Sensor Networks
A new gradient-based routing protocol is proposed which considered the minimum hop count and remaining energy of each node. The optimal routes can be established easily and autonomously during the setup stage. An acknowledgement scheme is optional which can be implemented without extra overheads. Data aggregation is applied in this routing protocol. The updating scheme makes this protocol still effective although the topology of the network may change frequently. Simulation results demonstrate the effects imposed by some parameters on the performance of protocol.
