The Research on Zero-Copy Receiving Method Based on Communication-Page Pool

With the development of hardware technology,the software communication protocol overhead has become the bottleneck of cluster communication. To overcome this bottleneck, the paper puts forward a zero-copy receiving method based on communication-page pool. A page-table lock technology is presented to make the application buffer residing in memory. Experiment result shows that the overhead consumed in the zero-copy receiving method is less than that of the existing communication protocol for large message transmitting such as MVICH, etc. Theoretical verification is also given.The zero-copy receiving method presented in the paper is fitter for cluster computing based on COTS product.
