Parallel Simulation of Fluid Flows and Its Visualization

Lattice-BGK method offers flexibility, efficiency and outstanding amenability to parallelism when modeling fluid flows. It preserves the spatial and temporal locality and thus is ideally suited for computation on parallel computers. In this paper, an efficient parallelization of the lattice-BGK method is developed. Based on strip, box or Multi-block Recursive Bisection decomposition of the computational grid, approximately balanced decompositions can be achieved. A scientific visualization system to the fluid flow simulation problems applying a new object-oriented programming paradigm is described. To clarify the idea of the paper, three benchmark steady and unsteady problems are investigated.
