Single Cell SIR Comparison between LAS-CDMA and IS-2000 in Multi-path Fading Environment
Near-far effect is the fatal drawback of traditional CDMA systems.System capacity has been seriously damaged by such effect. A smart code group, called LAS-codes, can eliminate all the inter-cellmultiple access interference (MAI) and the inter-symbol interferences (ISI) under multi-path propagation environment. Therefore LAS-CDMA can completely avoid the near-fareffect. The signal interference ratio (SIR) at the end of RAKE receiver, both in LAS-CDMA and in IS-2000, are analyzed and simulated in this paper. In addition, without the near-far effect, LAS-CDMA can adopt a perfect forward power allocation, which may significantly reduce the adjacent cell interference (ACI), and so LAS-CDMA may have a much higher capacity than the traditional CDMA.
