SOLUBILITY AND DENSITY OF MIXTURES OF R-744 AND TWO SYNTHETIC LUBRICANT OILS
Density and solubility of mixtures of R-744 and two lubricant oils (POE ISO 68 and AB ISO 32) were measured at temperatures ranging from 12 to 75℃. An experimental facility that enables simultaneous measurements of the physical properties is described in the manuscript. The experimental results show that regions of immiscibility occur at temperatures lower than the critical temperature of the refrigerant at moderate mass fractions. Significant departure from ideality is also inferred from the density data. R-744 was found to be more soluble in the POE than in the AB lubricant oil.
