ANALYSIS OF A CAPILLARY PUMPED LOOP APPLIED TO THE WARM END OF A STIRLING COOLER
The objective of this work is to investigate the operation characteristics of a CPL (Capillary Pumped Loop) working as a secondary heat transfer loop in alternative refrigeration systems. A CPL prototype was designed, constructed and tested under typical operation conditions of refrigeration systems. Tests were carried out varying the pore size the wick thickness and the evaporator height. It has been found that the best CPL prototype transferred a maximum heat flux of 4.5W/cm2, with the warm end temperature at 76℃ and the outdoor air temperature maintained at 32℃.
