EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER PERFORMANCE OF METAL PACKING IN AIR-CONDITIONING
The heat and mass transfer performance of metal packing with specific surface area of 350m2/m3 and 500m2/m3 has been studied under dehumidification cooling condition through experiment in this paper. A great deal of data collected through experiment was processed using multiple linear regression method. Several empirical formulas were given on coefficient of heat transfer ac coefficient of mass transfer aD, pressure loss Δp as dependent variables, and such affecting factors like water drenching density, air mass velocity, inlet cold water temperature and dry/wet bulb temperature of inlet air as independent variables. The effects of various parameters on performance were also investigated. Experimental results show that specific surface area of 500 m2/m3 of metal packing is more adapted to air-conditioning unit compared with that of 300 m2/m3. Face velocity is supposed to take 2.2~2.8m/s, velocity of mass flow of water drenching is 1.8~2.5kg/m2·s.
