INTENSIFIED ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION CYCLE BASED ON EJECTING AND PRE-COOLING
The absorption process of the traditional absorption refrigeration cycle is accomplished via spraying, in which heat release and absorption have to be accomplished simultaneously. Small absorption potential difference results in huge space requirement in the absorber and mandatory superior cooling conditions become absolute shortcomings of this type of refrigeration system under certain circumstances such that when very limited space is available and when air cooling is required. Therefore a new ejecting absorption refrigeration cycle is put forward based on the traditional absorption refrigeration cycle, in which the processes of absorption and heat release are separated. The heat release process is accomplished in the precooling exchanger, where the solution is super-cooled, while the absorption process is accomplished in the injector, where the solution is super-pressed. The states of super-cooled and super-pressed solutions are in favor to increase the absorption potential difference and make the absorption process much easier. In the single heat release process, heat transfer enhancement can be easily obtained. Therefore, the volume of the system can be decreased and air cooling can be used in the heat release process so that the absorption refrigeration system can be widely used in the circumstances of limited available space or mandatory of air cooling. The principle of ejecting absorption refrigeration cycle is introduced, and the method of choosing the parameters in the design process is analyzed with an illustrative example using LiBr-H2O working fluids. A comparison to the traditionally spraying absorption refrigeration cycle is made. The factors that may affect the absorption process are also addressed.
