DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW ENGAGING COUPLE PROFILE OF SINGLE SCREW COMPRESSORS

A new engaging couple profile of single screw compressors enveloped by multi columns is introduced. The rotor groove flank of this engaging couple is composed of multi-segment envelope surfaces, and the contacting area on the star wheel tooth flank with the rotor groove flank uniformly moves in one revolution, which is rather different from the stationary contacting position of existing engaging couple profiles. This leads to the improved wear resistance and operation life, low gas leakage and high efficiency of the machine.
