SIMULATION ON THE FLOW OF CARBON DIOXIDE IN CAPILLARY TUBES IN A TRANSCRITICAL REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

In this paper, the flow of carbon dioxide in capillary tubes in a trans-critical cycle has been simulated under different working conditions. The influences of five parameters (inlet pressure, inlet temperature, inner diameter, mass flow rate and evaporation temperature) on length of capillary were obtained. The results show that length of capillary tube needed is nearly proportional to inlet pressure and is approximately inverse proportional to inlet temperature when other parameters are fixed. It is also shown that the influence of evaporation temperature can be omitted, but the change of capillary length is remarkable when inner diameter or mass flow rate is changed.
