CHARACTERISTIC OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND THERMAL COMFORT OF SPLIT AIR CONDITIONING IN RESIDENTIAL IN MIANYANG
This paper evaluates the performance of a split air conditioning system in different fresh air modes in Mianyang. In the scale mode experiments, it measured the in-door air temperature, relatively humidity and humidity ratio, air velocity and energy consumption in different air condition, and simulates the energy consumption using DeST software dynamically, then analyses the Thermal Comfort of Human body based on the questionnaire data statistically. It found that the energy consumption is related to the velocity of the air supply, the mode of fresh air and air distribution. The experimental results indicate that it is the energy efficiency when the supply air distribution is up inlet and low down outlet. On the other hand, during the experiments, the split air conditioning is operated in whole day, according to the simulation of DeST, the energy consumption can reduce about 70% supposed that air conditioning is operated intermittently. As regards thermal comfort and energy efficiency, the experiment establishes a best fresh air supplying mode for the split air conditioning systems, namely supply air system with little fresh air (78 m3/h) and low velocity and down outlet. The results are useful for both HVAC design engineers and the users of split air conditioning systems.
