THE EFFECT OF HEAT SOURCES ON THE NON-ISOTHERMAL JET IN A LARGE SPACE BUILDING

In a large space air-conditioned building, the plumes generated by the indoor heat sources have a significant thermal buoyant effect on the air jet injected from an air supply opening, and could change the jet trajectory. This paper describes the research on the interaction between the plume and air jet. Experiments were carried out in a large space building. The experiments showed that the plumes generated by the heat sources will lift up the air jet trajectory obviously. A numerical simulation of the non-isothermal jet trajectory affected by the plume was conducted and coincided with the experimental results. With numerical calculation, the influences of heat sources on the indoor thermal environment under different conditions were discussed. The results show that the thermal buoyant effect of plumes on the air jet should be taken into account if the indoor heat sources are large enough.
