CONCEPTUAL DESIGN OF NOVEL MULTI-STAGE SOLID-GAS HEAT TRANSFORMER SYSTEM
To recover or widen usage of low temperature heat, such as solar energy, geothermal energy or other waste heat in industries, it is suggested to lift up the temperature with sorption heat transformer system, which is driven by heat. Among sorption systems, those involving with solid-gas reaction are of great advantage, because there are plentiful of solid reagents reacting with ammonia or hydrogen.Since temperature lift-up of single-stage heat transformer system is limited, several structures of two-stage heat transformer system have been proposed. However, when single-stage system is transferred into multi-stage, these systems suffer from the increment of the high system pressure or the decrement of the low system pressure, which will make multi-stage system impractical and unsafe. In this paper, novel structure of multi-stage solid-gas thermal-chemical heat transformer system, in the case of chlorides reacting with ammonia, is proposed. With the novel system structure, the single-stage solid-gas heat transformer system can be transferred into two- or multi-stage heat transformer without changing the system pressure. With novel two-stage heat transformer system, heat at temperature of 120℃ can be lifted up to over 200℃, which can be used for generation of medium pressure steam. It was concluded that the novel system structure for multi-stage heat transformer can realize high temperature lift-up degree, and keep the system pressure in the reasonable range.
