Optimal linear ordering decisions for expected inventory order crossovers
Expected inventory order crossovers occur if at the moment of ordering it is expected that orders will not arrive in the sequence they are ordered. Applying the periodic review orderup-to policy leads to incorrect decisions if expected order crossovers occur. We develop an optimal linear ordering policy using a stochastic control model of the problem with expected inventory order crossovers. The optimal linear ordering policy minimizes a weighted function of V-type inventory costs.
