A Survey of Application Areas and Customer Sectors Served by Robotics Firms
This paper examines the application areas and customer sectors served by robotics firms, using data of robotics firms operating in the United States. The results show that robotics firms vary in their selection of application areas and customer sectors, and in the degree of diversification of application areas and customer sectors. Also, some differences in the degree of diversification of application areas and customer sectors are observed among robotics firms by their nationality. The results would help robotics firms evaluate their competitive positions as well as competitors approach to the marketplace and formulate their product strategy.
