Possible Attacks based on IPv6 Features and Its Detection
In IPv6 Network, It was assumed that die local link would consist of mutually trusting nodes. However, the actual developments in public networks, such as WLANs, have radically changed the situation. The nodes on a local link cannot necessarily trust each other any more, but they must become mutually suspicious. This creates a number of new security threats. In mis paper we provide the taxonomy for possible attacks based on IPv6 features, including scan attack, Denial-of-Servtce (DoS), and Man-in-the-Middle (MitM). Then we implement an attack tool and a detector to validate the attacks. The results show mat the attacking methods are feasible and the detection methods are effective. It can reduce the influence of attacks and protect network.
