Fast-Integrated Handover Scheme with NEMO Support in IEEE 802.16e BWA Networks
As demand for ubiquitous broadband access increases, more attention is being paid to the IEEE 802.16 family of standards, especially IEEE 802.16e, which supports mobile terminals. Support of network mobility (NEMO) in next-generation wireless systems requires an effective handover scheme optimized specially for NEMO. In this paper, we propose, and evaluate a fast-integrated NEMO handover scheme. The results of the evaluation show that our scheme has less service disruption time and packet delay than FH80216e and basic NEMO schemes. It also only requires a few modifications in mobile router (MR) and works well with FH80216e, which supports node mobility.
