LARGE-SPAN BRIDGES AND THEIR HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEMS IN CHINA

摘要：

This paper presents the most recent development in the research and implementation of structural health monitoring systems for large span bridges in China. After a brief review on the large span bridge projects in recent years and main deterioration and defects problems of existing bridges, this paper puts the focus on the review of the following two aspects: the implementation of structural health monitoring system for large span bridges, and the advanced sensing, transmission, and system integration technologies. The structural health monitoring system for Donghai bridge is introduced as an example. Through the review, a discussion on the issues for the future implementation of structural health monitoring system is offered.
