Long-term Health Monitoring To Tunnel Structure At High Groundwater Inflow Lot
Under the high underground water inflow, additional risks may be imposed on tunnel structures. Therefore, inspection of structures would be required from time to time to ascertain that those tunnels are still at safe, and structural components are capable of withstanding various surrounding effects, such as excessive stress due to high water pressure and loosen rock mass, degradation made by ingression of water inflow, as well as other effects from worsen environmental influences. This paper presents a long-term health monitoring case to the tunnel structure at high groundwater inflow lot. The monitoring system was set-up through combination of fiber optic sensors with vibrating strings gauges in service health of tunnel structure under diverse water stress. Brief introduce on the schematic design and installation this in situ health monitoring system will be stated. Furthermore, methods relevant to prediction the safety and evaluation of health behaviour will be discussed.
