Technological Opportunism and Leapfrogging of Developing Countries

摘要：

From the conception of the technological trajectory, the paper studies the organizational evolution in technological changes characterized by punctuated equilibrium, which is prominently characterized by rigidities under the given trajectory of corporations and the fact that newborn corporations find it easier to surpass than the leading companies in the new technical trajectory by introducing disruptive technology. Hence, the developing countries should pay more attention to the research and commercialization of new disruptive technology and take advantage of technological opportunism since it can get rid of the disadvantages of backwardness in existing trajectories and realize technological leapfrogging.
