An Empirical Study on the Relationships between HRM Practices, Innovative Control, and Firm Performance in High-tech Firms
Human resource management (HRM) practices and organizational control are seen as crucial for firm performance in China. Drawing on both of HRM theory and technical innovation theory, this paper develops a conceptual model which can reflect the relationships between HRM practices (including employees training, compensation system, mental motivation), innovative control and firm performance of high-tech firms in transitional China. We analyze the data collected from 194 high-tech firms in eight provinces of China. Eight out of ten hypotheses received support. The empirical study shows that the model was provided a strong supporting and provides useful managerial implication for managers and insights into the understanding of HRM practices and innovative control impacting on financial performance or non- financial performance of firm.
