Does Corporate Culture Vary for Product Innovation and Process Innovation?

Most literatures examine the corporation innovation culture as a whole, but few of them have compared the difference of the two kinds of innovative culture that facilitate the product innovation and the process innovation. The aim of this paper is to check whether these two kinds of innovation cultures have different effect on the production innovation and the process innovation respectively with quantitative perspective. Thus the paper proposes and explains two key concepts--the product innovation culture and the process innovation culture. By questionnaires and face-to-face interviews in 33 Chinese high-tech companies and quantitative analysis, the paper finds that the two kinds of innovations are significant different in terms of autonomy, openness, teamwork, leadership and career development, and provides useful advice for forming innovation culture. In the end, the limitation of the research and future research expectations is discussed.
