Career Plateau and Professional Plateau: Impact on Innovative Performance of Innovators
This study focused on the theme of professional plateau, which is defined as innovators find their innovational job unchallenging, few opportunities for professional development and future innovative success. The study proposed that career plateau accounts for a weak effects on the dependent variable and professional plateau accounts for significant influences to the innovative performance. The hypotheses were tested using data collected by the survey including 153 innovators in the high-tech company. One of the practical implications of the results is that leaders need to understand that career plateau and professional plateau are two types of plateau. Professional plateau has more impacts on innovators performance.
