Enterprise Lean Innovation under the Mass-customization Environment
Mass production is no longer suitable for todays active market, the ever-changing products and the development of e-commerce. Mass customization is a new paradigm to replace mass production. Mass customization can be adapted to the future product diversity, in the rapid developing market, aiming at the market opportunities, through the network of shops and the Internet to sell products which are customized to the individual. As the 21st century mainstream mode of production, mass customization, from concept to maturity, takes advantages of competitive cost, high customer satisfaction and speed of response to satisfy peoples individual needs. At present, the market has become a buyers market. Because of the international market, the competition among enterprises has become much fiercer. For the rapid development of technology, product life cycle is becoming shorter and shorter, and that let the customers demand more individuality and diversity. There must be a decrease in the number of customized products. They also called for a shorter delivery time, lower cost and better quality. The enterprise is faced with a dilemma: How to conduct effective mass production of customized products? Lean Production is based on the International Automobile Project of Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Toyota production research and development. It is proposed as a production and management techniques in 1990. As a new production pattern, the core is seeking to eliminate waste of everything, including inventory. The core ideas of lean production can solve the above dilemma mass customization faced. Therefore, this paper probes into that enterprise achieves the total lean innovation through the view of lean innovation system, so that the mode of production can be converted from mass-production to mass-customization.
