A Discussion on the Origin of Emerging Technologies from the View of Technology S-curves

摘要：

Based on concepts and characteristics of emerging technologies, this paper, starting from the S-curves about technological improvement and technology diffusion, analyzes key factors influencing technological development and makes a conclusion that discontinuity of technological improvement and adoption diffusion is the origin of emerging technologies and that emerging technologies come into being under their alternant process of the two kinds of discontinuity.
