Open Indigenous Innovation for Productivity Enhancement Miracle: Based on Architecture Study of a Chinese Manufacturing Firm
This paper discussed how Chinese traditional manufacturing firms could lend themselves to be an international market leader through continual open indigenous innovation based on a case study of CIMC, a world class manufacturer in China. We looked into CIMCs innovation history carefully, summarized the main innovation mode of CIMC, and provided other Chinese manufacturing firms with valuable experience in innovation process. Finally we proposed a useful way for manufacturers to follow, that was from imitation to indigenous innovation through learning.
