An Analysis of the Influencing Factors on the New Ventures Performance: In Case of the Enterprise in Zhejiang Province of China

New ventures are very important to the development of the macro-economy. They attribute to the most of the new jobs in China. In this paper, we investigate on the influencing factors of new venture performance empirically and post a model for new venture performance. Since early 1990s,new ventures in China, especially in Zhejiang Province, have been increasing rapidly. Many investors who looked forwards to the massive opportunities in China, seemed to be a trial of opportunities and risks. This paper aimed to explore the factors which will influence on the performance of the new ventures in Zhejiang province, China. According to the review of related literatures, this study follows a resource-based perspective, plus the viewpoints of some scholars on entrepreneurial orientation, experience and ability.This study applied a survey research method, taking new venture in Zhejiang province China as the research target and got a total of 289 effective samples. Statistic analyses were conducted to find the relationship between the resource base of new venture in Zhejiang province China, entrepreneurial orientation, entrepreneur traits, environment condition and performance of new ventures. Our results suggest that the performance of new ventures is highly dependent on the behavior of their leaders experience and capability.We tested our model using a sample of 289 new ventures in Zhejiang province ,China. Each participant was a founder and/or significant equity stakeholder. Performance was measured using the sales growth rate and absolute sales volume of the new ventures. As such, our results appear to have important implications for research and practice. Specifically, it appears that entrepreneurial leaders would do well to modify their leadership behavior according to the environmental conditions in which their firms operate.Based on the result of data analysis, the major findings were as follows:1. The magnitude of financial resources had a significant impact on the performance of the new ventures.2. The more network was accumulated, the better the performance of the new ventures.3. The degree of support of government for industry has a significant moderate effect on new venture performance.
