Configuration and Motivation: Knowledge Management in Distributed Innovation Processes
The purpose of this paper is to elaborate the key process of knowledge management in Distributed Innovation (DI) processes. It outlines a model of knowledge management process in DI processes, especially in MNCs, and identifies different factors which have remarkable impact on the innovation outcome. Specifically, it argues that the key processes or activities of DI can be divided into two categories. One is configuration process, the other is motivation process .it suggests ways in which R&D managers may optimize their innovation process when they moving towards a more distributed and open architecture of knowledge generation.
