Performance Prism

Recently, one kind of performance measurement based on the conformity to the traditional measurement system can overcome the insufficiency of the past methods. It has placed the important stakeholders the core position and also emphasized that effective content is not merely the data. This is so-called Performance Prism.1It is the second generation measurement framework followed Balanced Scorecard designed to assist performance measurement - the vital process of picking the right measures. 1 It is a comprehensive measurement framework that addresses key business issues to a wide variety of organizations. It explicitly asks critical questions and encourages executives to think through the links between measures in a way that other frameworks do not intuitively suggest. It can be helpful to realize the value for the organizations in a big way.In this paper, introduce the structure of the Performance Prism, with an emphasis on the five facets: stakeholders satisfaction; stakeholders contribution; strategies; procedures and capabilities facet, which are deeply penetrated in the thinking of the Performance Prism. Moreover, unifying the concrete situation of the organizations, every aspect may be decomposed into many concrete questions while each question uses the measurement indices to express. Finally, put forward the procedures of its application, and set up series of indices for a concrete measurement to illustrate the application of the Performance Prism.
