Study on Knowledge-based Intelligent Design System for Hydraulic Cylinder Family

This paper discusses the key problems for cased-based and ruled-based intelligent design systems in order to shorten the product cycle; make full use of the available designing resources and implement the inteltigent and rapid response design with the hydraulic cylinder as the study object. The framework and the working process of the prototype system is given and the knowledgebase structure is discussed in the paper. The knowledgebase is divided into three bases: rule data-base; case-database and 3-d case model base. This research can implement the representation for complex cases and so it can support the intelligent design and rapid response design. The principle of the prototype given can be applied to other products.
