Mechanism of Self Lubrication and Its Numerical Simulation
Polymer melt pump is used to convey the melt with high temperature and pressure, and the bearing is lubricated with the melt conveyed. In this paper, the mechanism of realizing the self lubrication, the forming of the hydrodynamic lubrication film and the computation of the load, are analyzed first. And multiple physical models of the lubrication film are built based on different clearances and relative eccentricities of the bearing. According to analyzing the distribution law of the parameters by POLYFLOW software, such as pressure, velocity, viscosity and the shear rate, the effect of melt viscosity, relative eccentricity and rotation speed on the lubrication film are discussed, the theory basis will be given for the design of the lubrication structure of the melt pump.
