Study on Unload-pressure-relief Groove in Gear Pump

A new method of reducing trapping pressure of gear pumps is offered in this paper, the unload-pressure-relief groove. The principle of the unload-pressure-relief groove is theoretically analyzed, and its function is studied by digital simulation and experiment. The theoretical analysis, digital simulation and experiment show that the unload-pressure-relief groove has an important sense for decreasing the trapping pressure. The unloading groove is able to improve gear pump work performance and increase the life of gear pumps. The unloading-reducing-pressure groove is specially adapted into gear pump, which profiles are little-clearance or non-profile clearance.
