Research on A Novel Hydraulic Orange Grapple

In this paper a new kind of hydraulic orange grapples with 3 tines that consist of two linkages in each is developed for improving the performance on flexibility and shape adaptive capacity. Every tine of this grapple can close individually according to the shape of the grappled stock. While grabbing an anomalous stock, every tine will move independently without any interruption until the grapple totally closed. The tines are driven by hydraulic actuators and the grapple can also rotate against the vertical axis to fit different work condition. By applying the hydraulic proportional valve to control the grapple, it is much applicable to grapple different shape stock and the location is more accurate.
