Study and Design of a New Kind of Electro-Hydraulic High Speed On-off Valve

High-speed on-off valve is need in fluid power control system based on pulse width modulation ( PWM), but as presently there are not many kinds the valve to be choose. In order to improve the switching speed of an electro-hydraulic high-speed on-off valve and the digital control accuracy of PWM, it is a new kind of high-speed on-off valve is designed. It adopts a special structure and used a rare earth giant magnetostrictive actuator as the electro-mechanical transducer. Result of simulation and experiment show that it can greatly improve switch speed and frequency of the valve. Comparing the piezoelectric high-speed on-off valve, this valve can get a more output flow and the fall of consume of electric power and is a kind of up-and-coming high speed on-off valve.
