Simulation on Flow of Liquid Phase LPG
The characters of liquid phase LPGs (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) flow play a very important part in engines working performance. In this paper, the flow of liquid phase LPG is numerically simulated by using a CFD software FIRE. The most suitable beak-up model is found though comparing the simulation results with the experimental results. A further study on the behaviors of LPGs flow comparing with that of diesels is described- The results show that in liquid phase LPG injection system, the simulation results have a very good coherence with the experimental results which means that KHRT submodel can correctly simulate the liquid phase LPG spray; the spray penetrates shorter due to rapid atomization and active evaporation, and therefore the sprays sauter mean diameter (SMD) becomes in general smaller than diesel spray.
