Rolling Force Prediction of Tandem Cold Rolling Based on PSO Neural Network

To meet the increasing requirement of thickness and flatness accuracy of cold strip, it is becoming more and more important to improve the precision of rolling setting parameters. This paper focuses on using artificial neural network to predict the rolling force of tandem cold rolling mill and a hybrid PSO BP algorithm is used to train the network. Software Microsoft SQL Server 2000 is edited as the database to store the rolling variables and training results of artificial neural network. Through VB platform the rolling parameters are inquired from Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database. The simulation shows that the artificial neural network method gives a better performance of rolling force prediction than that of conventional model.
