Study on the Retractable Fin Stabilizer Electro-hydraulic Proportional Control System
Many kinds of oscillations resulted from the wind waves may occur when the ship is sailing on the sea. In all of the oscillations, the consequences of roll motions is the most dangerous, it can seriously degrade the mechanical performance and personnel effectiveness. At now, fin stabilizer is the most effective equipment to alleviate roll motions, and it is adapt for middle and high speed ships. Conventional fin stabilizers adopt electro-hydraulic servo control technique, and it has very complex structures. In a new type of retractable fin stabilizer, electro-hydraulic proportional control valve is employed to replace conventional electro-hydraulic servo valve. Comparing to conventional electro-hydraulic servo control system, not only the system structures is simplified, but also the anti-pollution degree of dubbing is increased. So the reliability of the whole system is enhanced. In this paper, mathematical model of the electro-hydraulic proportional control system is established at first, and then the approach is given to reduce disadvantages of proportional control system such as dead band and slow response. By comparing the simulation results and the practical measurement data with former demand, it is indicated that the above disadvantages is reduced effectively, and the electro-hydraulic proportional control system proposed in the paper meets the demand of the control system of retractable fin stabilizer.
