Design and Research of Electro-hydraulic Motion Controller Based on Embedded Structure

In this paper, the authors adopt a design thought of motion control in NC system, and put forward the concept of electro-hydraulic motion control. Then an electro-hydraulic motion controller has been designed based on open system structure, in which, industrial fieldbus, DSP, FPGA/CPLD and EDA technology were applied. The controller not only can be embedded into complex industrial control system conveniently, but also makes the servo control cycle of single electro-hydraulic axis reach to 100μs, real time problem of electro-hydraulic control has been resolved effectively. Actually, the servo control speed of the controller has been promoted 100~1000 times compared with PLC and DCS system. Modeling and Simulation with AMESim software and experimental research in laboratory were implemented. In addition, the controller applies on milling machine which processes precision copper tubes in industrial field. Both simulation and field test results are provided to show the success of the design.
