Analysis of Energy-Flow and Study on Energy-Saving Methods for Hydraulic Excavators
Hydraulic excavators (HEs) have been paid much attention in the fields of energy saving and environment protection, for the reasons of their large application quantities, high fuel consumption and bad emission. High efficiency and energy saving have been the main aims pursued by excavator manufacturers. In order to evaluate the performances of existing HE, and find out effective ways for energy saving and discharge reducing, and lower the development cost, a whole excavator simulation model for a 20-ton class excavator is established with Simulink and SimMechanics toolboxes of MATLAB system. The energy-flow of the HE is analyzed, and the output power of engine and the energy loss of main control valves are simulated. According to the analysis results for eneFgy-flow, a series of energy-saving methods are analyzed. It is shown that, hybrid driving and energy regeneration are two effective energy saving projects for HE.
