Design of a Rehabilitation Training Assistive Device Driven by Pneumatic Actuators
Gait rehabilitation training shows promise to improve walking function and quality of life for stroke patients. During the gait training, the treadmill training is widely used. But for those whose lower limbs are very weak, additional persons are needed to help them realize the training. One way to relieve the work of the persons is to apply assistive device -and body weight relief. Considering the safety and weight, a device actuated by pneumatic muscles is designed which can help the patient to left the lower limb during gait training. The structure and the basic model of the assistive device are proposed. The gait cycle and the basic control strategy for the device are analyzed. As the force produced by the pneumatic actuator can be adjusted, and the stiffness of the device can be controlled, the device can realize passive training for different training process.
