Research on Seal Material of Water Hydraulic Props

In order to improve the service life of the seal elements used in water hydraulic props, two kinds of TPU elastomer (Desmopan 786S and Desmopan 588E) were selected as the base seal materials of water hydraulic props respectively, and they were modified by particle fillers such as BaSiO4 and MoS2. The properties, such as wear rate, friction coefficient and Shore hardness of the selected TPU elastomers have been measured before and after modified. The experimental data showed that when the weight ratio of the selected TPU elastomers to BaSiCMs (10:1), the modified TPU elastomers have small wear rates. It was also shown that the particle fillers of MoS2 can reduce the friction coefficient of Desmopan 786S.
