Singularity of Au Distribution in Altered Rock Type Deposit——An Example from Dayingezhuang Gold Ore Deposit
Taking Dayingezhuang gold deposit, a typical altered rock type deposit, as an example, via multifractal method, we study the singularity of gold grade distribution along different exploration lines. In case of that the order of moment (q) ranges from -5 to 5 the multifractal characteristics in the mineralized area and non-mineralized area are obviously different. The generalized spectrum (Dq~q) in non-mineralized area is like straight line and the width of multifractal spectrum is narrow; however, generalized spectrum in mineralized area is bended obviously and the width of multifractal spectrum is wider than that in the non-mineralized area. The spectrum differences reveal the gold grade distribution in the mineralization area is more singular and more homogeneous than the gold grade distribution in the non-mineralization area due to the intense activity of hydrothermal. It is proved that the multifractal parameters are effective indexes to differentiate mineralized area from non-mineralized area.Mineralization process has the characteristic of singularity, which is the main factor leads to the disparity of mineralization intensity in spatial distribution. And multifractal is the important method to deal with the singularity of ore-element distribution (Cheng, 1997, 1999). This paper takes Dayingezhuang gold ore deposit as an example and researches distribution characteristics of the gold grades along different exploration lines via multifractal theory.
