Importance of Systematics in Petrology with Special Reference to Mathematical Data Analysis

Geological studies should be based on the systematic description in the field and laboratory , and the classification and nomenclature of rocks are important schemes. According to the development of new methods and instruments for petrological observation and measurement, enormous amount of various kinds of data in petrology have been accumulated, which should be analyzed from not only petrological but also mathematical view points for the study of systematics in petrology.
