CNN Modeling for the Periodic Banding Texture of Sphalerite
Under the hypothesis that the crystallization process for forming sphalerite banding textures occurs in the plane perpendicular to the axis of calcium carbonate crystal in a hexagon area and the reaction-diffusion process is from outside of the system area inward, a CNN model is built to simulate the periodic banding textures of sphalerite based on the dynamic model suggested by Sergei Katsev and Ivan LHeureux in 2001. The simulated results meet with some observations quite well, which implies that our hypothesis is reasonable and the CNN model can be used to interpret the mechanism for the forming of various textures of sphalerite.
