An Improved Adaptive Filter for Remote Sensing Image Denoising
During the processes of obtaining, collecting and transmitting. Remote Sensing (RS) image is usually degraded by various noises due to the disturbance of internal or external factors. RS image with noises cannot reflect actual surface features accurately. In order to improve image quality, people often use manifold filtering techniques to pretreat RS image before other posterior processes. In this paper, based on traditional Median Filter (MF) and Adaptive Median Filter (AMF), an improved Adaptive Weighting Filter (AWF) for RS image denoising is presented. Experimental results indicate that this algorithm has better characteristics of noise reduction, detail preservation and noise adaptability than traditional filtering methods.
