Inversion System for 3D Gravity and Magnetic Anomalies

This paper is concerned with the function and structure of inversion system for 3D gravity and magnetic anomalies (MG3DINV). It is an interactive geophysical modeling tool for the display, analysis and simulation of magnetic and gravity data. It can calculate the magnetic anomaly and the gravity anomaly over one or more three dimensional bodies, and also allows the use of inversion, wherein mathematical techniques are used to modify the shape (and other attributes) of the model to improve the fit of the calculated curves to the observed data. It can be used for targeting anomalies, regional simulation and basin modeling.
